1. Polka Dots
Polka dots are such a joyful pattern. As many of my friends and family members know and notice, I love wearing polka dots. Most polka dots that I wear are incorporated through scarves (thank you Nordstrom Internship for getting me hooked on scarves). Additionally, my favorite polka dot combination is black and white polka dots.
2. Quality Time
As an extrovert I crave time with people, but quality time with family, friends, and God is especially refreshing to my soul. One of my favorite ways to spend quality time with friends and family is by going and doing something. Going to the coast for an adventure, playing a game of Scrabble at Starbucks with a cup of tea, or having gelato or dinner are some of my favorite quality time moments.
3. Proverbs 31:25
Proverbs 31:25 NASB states “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future.” This is my absolute favorite bible verse. When I began studying fashion I felt like God had crafted this verse especially for me (even though he crafted it for all of us)! This verse reminds me that inward beauty is more important than external and to be excited for the plans that God has in store for the future. This verse is also a part of how A God-Fashioned Life got its name.
Learner is one of my Strengths and I’ve always loved learning new things. This summer I’m taking a summer course over Appreciative Advising and am falling in love with learning via textbooks all over again. Learning more about how to better serve the students I advise is so exciting to me! I have loved learning since I was a child. Even though the Appreciative Advising course is online I still love reading books and textbooks the old fashioned way. I love being able to highlight, write notes in the margins, and put a Post-it in the book for reminders of what to re-visit later.
5. Rainy Days
Rainy days have always been my favorite days growing up. Thankfully God prepared me to enjoy rainy days, because it rains frequently in Oregon, but I still love rainy days! During the hot summer, I’m realizing how lovely a cold, wet, rainy Oregon day truly is and am excited for the next rainy day. Rainy days are especially wonderful when they are spent at the ocean wearing rain boots.
