1. The Ocean
My husband and I are so grateful that we get to live in this little, sleepy beach town of Santa Barbara. The ocean is a hop, jump, skip away. For us the ocean is a place that clears our mind, body and soul. It’s a place we go to meditate, and let all of our worries be taken away. To experience the smell of the salt water is very invigorating.
My life has had so many ups and downs. I truly believe God gave them to me because he knew I could handle them. Although, sometimes they have been trying, and the only way for me to move on, and get through them is by having a spiritual path, and practicing meditation. Monkey mind doesn’t come as often as it used to, but a daily spiritual practice is what keeps me and my mind calm.
3. Best Friends
I could go one for days about my best girlfriends. I’m originally from the Midwest, which is where they all are. They are the ones who have stuck with me through thick and thin, and accept me for who I am, wherever I am in my life. There is never judgment, just pure, simple, true love. I feel very fortunate to be able to call these girls my best friends. They are my rock!
I’m a sucker for any kind of sweet, especially cake. I’m not the most talented baker, but I sure give it the old college try. My girlfriends will come over to hang out, and the next thing you know we will be baking a cake. It’s a fun, bonding, lots-of-laughs, kind of a moment. I will buy any cake book out there. Just to look at them and dream, is fun for me.
We love plants in our home. They are very purifying, and keep all of those yucky toxins out of our home. To us, they make our home feel clean, homey, and earthy. At the moment I’m considering going out and buying a new one. The specific one that I have my eye on right now, is the Fiddle Leaf plant. They are beautiful. Our home is very clean and airy, with different plants throughout. They bring peace into our lives.
