1. Windows down on back roads
Theres nothing like driving through Georgia’s beautiful backroads and taking it all in; the farms, the fall foliage and preferably blasting my favorite country music.
2. Summer bonfires
Theres something about summer night bonfires that let you slow down, lay back and enjoy good company. Its where some of the best stories and conversations take place and the night usually transitions into a time of celebration.Theres nothing like being crowded around a warm fire underneath the night sky lifting praises high.
Writing to me is continuously celebrating being human. You face, talk and work through the good, the bad and the not so beautiful. The most wonderful part is getting the chance to share it with others and making them feel understood. The universal nod and verbal “me too”. The power of identifying with one another reminds us that through the highlight and blooper reels we are in this together.
4. Good food and good people.
It can be on sunday afternoons, lunch with your best girl friends, birthday celebrations. The combination of people you love and something to fire up your taste buds always makes for a memorable time. Pass the apple butter please!
5. Hiking during the fall
Hitting the trails, appreciating the brisk wind and slowing down to appreciate the Souths mountains and foothills is one of my favorite thing to do with loved ones. The more I travel, the more I realize that there the people in the south and its landscape are equally beautiful. Come on, home will always be where warm smiles, college football and comfort food is at!
