There is something about the little button nose on my puppy, Felix. It’s like a black little button on his otherwise white body. His wet little Eskimo kisses are sure to brighten anyone’s day. A puppy is full of unconditional love, and they can always tell when you’re down, giving you extra love to try and cheer you up. Even though I grew up with dogs, having one of my own has taught me a whole new kind of love.
2. Snail Mail
Sealing the envelope to the perfect card or boxing up a fun little goodie box is the perfect way to spread some love. Finding something in your mailbox that isn’t a bill or junk mail is sure to put a smile on your face any day of the week. I try to spread the snail mail love at least once a month.
3. Freshly Painted Nails
A hot, fresh color. A smooth, glossy top coat. It’s like a whole new start at the day. I feel invincible, powerful, sassy, girly. With a fresh coat of polish, there is nothing I can’t do.
4. Driving with a convertible top down
Wind in your hair. Cool breeze. Shades on. Summer Hits of the 2000’s rocking on Pandora. It’s hard to rock this situation without a giant smile all over your face.
5. Exploring new places (bonus points for not speaking the language)
Go somewhere, just once, where you don’t speak the language. It’s incredibly liberating, having no idea what is happening around you. And communicating via hand gestures gives you a whole new appreciation for your ability to speak. I love to travel and experience new cultures— finding the hidden beauty in every place I visit.
