ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Hey friends! Welcome to Girls’ Night!

In today's episode, we're talking to my sweet friend Kaitlin Wernet. Kaitlin is a beautiful writer who regularly contributes to She Reads Truth, as well as writing on her own blog about grace and grief, adventures and friendship, and so much more.

You guys are going to love Kaitlin. She is brilliant, and warm, and wise, and funny. She loves God with her whole heart and has helped thousands of women get to know Him better. Kaitlin is also such a dear friend of mine, and because we moved here at just around the same time, Kaitlin and I were some of each other's first friends here in Nashville!

And actually — that’s what we’re talking about in today’s episode! We’re talking all about friendship — specifically, how to make new friends as an adult, because I know I'm not telling you anything new when I say it can be SO TRICKY!

Carl and I moved to Nashville about two and a half seconds after we got married, and I have to tell you, it was the loneliest season of my entire life.

And that sounds crazy to say, right? I had just gotten married to the best man I know, and our marriage was so good right from the start. But I found out really quickly that marriage doesn't replace the need for really great girlfriends, and for the first time in my life, I didn't have any! (Well, I didn't have any in my state, anyway!)

And so I began a long journey of learning how to make friends all over again, and not long after, that's when I met Kaitlin. She had just moved to Nashville and was on the same friend-making journey as I was.

Friends — we have learned so much along the way. How to meet new girls, how to get to know them better, how to put yourself out there, how to find and form the kind of community you've always wanted. And we can't wait to share all of that with you.

So today as you're listening to today's episode, maybe you just moved somewhere new like we did, or maybe your friends have moved away or moved into different seasons of life. Maybe you’ve never had the close-knit friend group you’ve always wanted but you’ve decided that you really want to invest in a community. Whatever your circumstances, I know that we could all use more great girlfriends in our lives, and today Kaitlin and I are going to be sharing our very best tips and tricks for how to get there.
