And just so we can officially call ourselves friends, here’s a little bit more about me!
My name is Stephanie May Wilson (or just Stephanie, now that we’re friends!). I’m a blogger, author, speaker, and best friend writing about friendship, faith, relationships and self-confidence. (That is, if we’re going to be all official about it!)
I got married not too long ago to an amazing guy named Carl. Carl is my best friend and my closest confidant. I’m a truer version of myself because of him. You’ll get to know him too if you stick around awhile.
I am a born and raised Coloradan who now lives in Nashville, TN!
I’m a graduate of the University of Colorado, and a Buffs fan for life.
The first time I ever saw scripture, it was written on a mirror in my sorority house in hot pink lipstick (that’s where The Lipstick Gospel comes from!) To this day, Habakkuk 1:5 is still my favorite verse.
I’m not a great cook… yet, but I am a devoted foodie. I read every cooking memoir I can get my hands on, and Instagram more photos of my food than is probably normal.
Because I thought Christians were boring, I was never interested in becoming one. But one spring break in college, I came face to face with Jesus when I saw Michelangelo’s fresco in the Sistine Chapel. I’m still not entirely sure what happened in that moment, but I came out having decided I wanted Jesus to be my best friend. It’s been an adventure ever since.
I’ve been known to travel up to two hours for a Chipotle burrito.
God teaches me about himself through beauty. This was never truer than when I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain. I learned so much about God as I wandered the cobblestone streets and, to this day, I experience God best with a rich cup of coffee, or a spectacular glass of red wine.
After college, I spent a year backpacking the world on The World Race. You can catch up on the writings from my adventure here!
I have the world’s greatest girlfriends – wise, passionate women who have taught me everything I know about friendship, community, and the power of living life together.
Anthropologie candles, soft blankets, and my grandmother’s brownies make me feel instantly at home.
I believe in being my own biggest fan. Life is far too short, and far too hard, to be my own toughest critic.
I’m equal parts writer and celebrator; I believe that even a Tuesday afternoon is worthy of a champagne toast.
I love God, and I believe he writes the best stories when I give him my faith, my courage, and a pinch of whimsy.
