ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Hey friends! Welcome to Girls’ Night!

I am SO excited about the person I get to introduce you to today. Our guest for today’s episode is Laura Hertgers — my very first mentor and small group leader. You are going to LOVE her.

There are two questions I’m asked all the time by my readers and listeners.

The first goes like this: Stephanie, how do I find a mentor?

The second goes like this: Stephanie, how do I BE a mentor?

We recognize that we need women pouring into our lives, and we want to be the kind of women who pour into other women’s lives, but if we’re honest, we have absolutely no idea how to do either of those things.

How do you ask someone to be your mentor, how do you ask someone if they want to be mentored? How do you actually go about mentoring or being mentored by someone? What do you talk about? How often do you meet? How do you figure that out? We have so many questions.

And that’s why I wanted to bring on my favorite mentor, and someone who’s honestly a mentoring expert, my dear friend Laura.

Now, Laura is amazing and has had such an impact on my life and on my faith. But the thing is, I’m not the only one. More than anyone else I’ve ever met, Laura has made mentorship a consistent part of her life — pouring into women younger than her in all kinds of capacities and through all different seasons. And in this episode she’ll teach us how to do that.

But Laura isn’t just an advocate for being a mentor, she’s an advocate for BEING mentored. Laura has made it a point to seek out mentors for herself in all seasons of life as well, and in this episode, she’ll teach us how to do that too.

Friends, I’m so excited for you to meet Laura. She’s wise and hilarious and in this episode we’ll share the story of how she met her husband and I take total credit for all of it. I can’t wait to tell you the story.
