1. Christmas Time
I won’t sit down to enjoy a movie until I have my winter-inspired blanket, hot chocolate/ munchies, a scented candle burning and every Christmas light on in my apartment. There’s so much to love about the Christmas season! My long, stressful days melt away as soon as I take my first sip of the warm goodness. And if Elf is on? Well, that’s just an added bonus.
It seems like every twenty-something Christian girl lives this mantra: all I need is coffee and Jesus. But literally, all I need is coffee and Jesus! Put me at Panera with a cup of House blend and my study bible and I’m the happiest girl in the world.
3. Sunday Morning
There’s something to be said about Sunday mornings. I wake up with a smile on my face knowing that my day is not filled with work, obligations, or stress. Instead, I get to wake up so I can go worship God! I don’t schedule out my Sundays. In fact, I don’t do much at all except attend church and nap. And now that I have a “big girl” job, I’ve learned to appreciate the Sabbath for what it was created for: rest.
Need I say more?
5. Family Vacation
It amazes me how I would take vacation time for granted when I was growing up. I used to somewhat dread the 4-week vacation I got every December in college because I didn’t know what I would do with all that time. God forbid, I’d be bored! But having less time off has made me appreciate the time I do get to spend with family and friends back at home. It’s never a dull moment because all those family traditions, home-cooked meals, and “so…what’s new?” conversations are suddenly more special to me.
