1. The perfect song
Music captures feelings and moments in time. I can go through my iTunes library and be hit in the face with more memories than a picture album could every hold. My heart’s desires find a voice in music. I’ve recently realized that my perfect study music is Indie Acoustic. It’s completely outside my normal listening range but it embodies my feelings in the moment. (If you’re wondering, I’m definitely not jamming out and dancing in a very public Starbucks….)
2. Fashion Statements
I’m normally a black on black kinda girl. I rarely stray from my neutrals and basics but recently I found a niche. I found some ridiculously crazy patterned leggings that made me jump for joy. They are overly bright and have gained me quiet a few stares but I love them. Nothing ushers in a new season of life like shaking things up a bit.
I have some serious wanderlust. I constantly want to go explore whatever lies outside my door. I am incredibly blessed to live in the outskirts of the great city of Nashville where I can go explore. If I feel like going a little farther, all I have to do is hop in a car and head to Atlanta, New Orleans or anywhere! Whether it’s exploring the awesome coffee shops or wandering around people watching it’s my favorite loveliest thing.
I love my roommate. She’s the absolute sweetest person I know. I get to share my highs and lows with her at the end of the day. At the end of the day our room is my safe place. Safe place to talk, to rant, to laugh, or to cry. She’s the person I share all my little details with. Honestly, the best thing about living with her is cracking up while making her bed, or rolling with laughter over something small and stupid. I love that we live laughing. It makes our small, somewhat sterile room feel full of life.
Sometimes, I get hit with inspiration and rush to my laptop to write down the words pouring out of my heart. Sometimes, I stand up on my mini soapbox and try and solve the entire world’s problems. Sometimes I just want to move and dance out all the feelings exploding out of me. This past semester I have been so inspired and emotionally aware of my surroundings. I think expressing beauty and ideas is the absolute most joyous, God-filled thing in the world. Nothing compares to that kind of automatic, unstoppable worship. The kind of worship that pours out and fills space.
